As a search engine free at the point of use, Scirus faces stiff competition. It tackles this by focussing on scientific content not only from journals but also from other information posted by the science community.

We have conducted two international studies using both qualitative and quantitative techniques.

One study looked at user satisfaction and how to improve it while another examined the acceptability of sponsored links on its search results.
